The place where Musavat Youth Organization’s vice-chairman Sakhavat Soltanli is being held has been discovered.
Following the verdict of Garadagh district court, he has been charged with auto-hooliganism and sentenced to five days in prison. He is now at Binagadi Detention Center.
This information was given to RFE/RL Azerbaijani service by solicitor Elchin Namazov, who has met with Sakhavat Soltanli and Rashadat Akhundov, both detained on 8 March. Both youths say that the charges against them are bogus and that the judge gave the verdict without any investigation: “The youths declined a state-appointed lawyer and wanted Eshabeli Mustafayev and Elchin Namazov to defend them. However Khatai and Garadagh district courts’ judges did not consider their objections.”
Rashadat Akhundov has started a hunger strike to protest his unlawful imprisonment. He has been sentenced to 5 days in prison, charged with defying police orders and resisting the police.
